We have been to Vegas over a dozen times and we stay on the strip, but we take a day to go to Ellis Island for some of the best BBQ, beer, and casino play you will find in town. What makes this place worth the trip is the great, and inexpensive food, the beer, and we believe the slots are loser here than on the strip! There is a steak special for under 10 bucks that is very good, but the ribs and chicken are the stars of this show! Get a players card, and you will get all sorts of comps, including free play and discounts on your meals. They brew beer on site and it is very good and very inexpensive.
After dark, we got an Uber, and would suggest you do the same. We have visited many times and during the day we felt perfectly safe walking from the strip to the casino.
This is a smaller casino and hotel, a couple of blocks off of the strip.
